National Nurses Week officially began on May 6 and ends on May 12, coinciding with Florence Nightingale's birthday. Nightingale served as a nurse caring for soldiers during the Crimean War. She was known to make rounds, often by torchlight, offering support and care for the medical needs of the injured soldiers. Nightingale was honored for her contributions to modern nursing.
This year's Nurses Week has been designated the "Year of the Healthy Nurse" by the American Nurses Association. It's a great time to say thank you to the nurses who do so much to care for our community.
We encourage you to take a moment and thank a nurse who has made an impact on your life for their dedication, care, and support. You can support their good work by making a gift to the Tuality Healthcare Foundation in their honor. Nurses who receive gifts in their honor will receive a notification of the donation and any messages of appreciation you wish to include. It’s a great way to say thank you and to help support the important care they provide.
