Registration for the 15th annual Cancer Awareness and Treatment Walk & Fun Run, an annual Hillsboro 4th of July tradition, opens Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
The Walk & Fun Run attracts over 1,000 walkers and runners on the 4th of July in downtown Hillsboro to support the fight against cancer. The event organized by the Tuality Healthcare Foundation serves as a prelude to the annual Hillsboro Rotary Club 4th of July parade.
For serious runners, the Foundation received exciting news recently that the 5-kilometer course has been certified by USA Track & Field (USATF), the sports’ governing body in the United States. A USATF course is a road race course whose has distance has been certified. Courses must be certified for any performance to be accepted as nationally ranked.
The easiest way to register is to go tualityfoundation.org and click on the Upcoming Event C.A.T. Walk & Fun Run area, then the Registration button. Fill out the convenient online form and you’re signed up for a 4th of July tradition.
The 2014 event raised more than $71,000 for cancer programs and services, pushing the amount generated to almost $1 million in 14 years. We hope you'll join us this year to help us continue our quest to fight cancer. The C.A.T. Walk & Fun Run benefits all of the cancer related programs and services provided by Tuality Healthcare. Our cancer services provide families in western Washington County convenient access to state-of-the-art treatment options close to home.
In addition to the timed 5K walk and fun run, the annual event also includes a Kids’ Dash and a Kids’ Zone featuring children’s activities and carnival games. An adjoining health fair showcases some of the event’s corporate sponsors and highlights many of the quality services provided at Tuality Healthcare.
