Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer for American women, with 1 in 8 females developing it in her lifetime. It’s also the second leading cause of cancer deaths.
Mammograms save lives by finding breast cancer early, which significantly reduces the risk of dying. Yet underserved women in rural and coastal communities face cultural, financial and transportation barriers to getting mammograms.
The On the Road to Prevention Campaign is raising funds to purchase a $1.1 million state-of-the-art mammography coach. The new van will bring lifesaving mammograms to underserved women.
