A good cup of coffee and a good cause teamed up once again in October to raise nearly $1,800 to benefit breast health programs supported by the Tuality Healthcare Foundation.

The annual Coffee for a Cure event, sponsored by The Human Bean coffee shops in Hillsboro and Cornelius, raised an exact total of $1,763.10 on Oct. 19. Proceeds from sales that day at the two shops were donated to the foundation. The Coffee for a Cure event is just one example of Tuality Healthcare’s support and promotion of October as Breast Cancer Awareness month.

“Thanks once again to the staff and executives at The Human Bean for sponsoring this great event,” said Cece Clitheroe, Tuality Healthcare Foundation director. “We love our coffee in Washington County and it shows with the great support we receive.” This longstanding relationship between The Human Bean and the Foundation has raised nearly $12,000, according to Clitheroe.

The Coffee for a Cure event involves all 49 The Human Bean franchises in seven states. The 49 shops raised a grand total of $95,559.41 to aid various breast health programs.

Tuality has two unique locations for breast health patients. Tuality’s new Breast Health Center, located in the Seventh Avenue Medical Plaza building, opened in the fall of 2011 and features the latest in digital mammography technology. Tuality’s mobile mammography van, the only one of its kind in Oregon, brings breast health services to locations like business, care home and other facilities.
